9th Clare – Ennistymon Scouts was formally chartered to the Catholic Boy Scouts of Ireland in September 1982, although the group was in existence for many years before then with some records showing meetings of Ennistymon Scouts taking place as long ago as 1966.
Today our group is dedicated to the development of life skills for girls and boys from ages 6+. In line with the principles of Scouting Ireland we aim to nurture the personal development and non-formal education of our members through the Scout Method, which is an approach unique to Scouting throughout the world.
Since our foundation, we’ve organised many, many outdoor adventures—from weekend camp-outs and local hikes to participation in regional jamborees—with unforgettable moments and lifelong friendships formed. Our leaders, past and present, have guided generations of young people through challenges, teamwork, and community service, while parents and community volunteers have supported behind the scenes.
We’re proud of how far we’ve come—and excited to continue building a spirit of adventure, leadership, and belonging in North Clare for years to come.
